This book was soooo good. I picked this one up at the same time I picked up Gilt Hollow because I wanted to expand on what genres I’ve been reading. I really didn’t expect to love them both as much as I did.
Chasing Truth by Julie Cross is the 1st book in her new Eleanor Ames series. I am completely intrigued and will definitely be signing up to read the next one. I waffled on the rating for this one. If the next book gives some of the answers I felt it was missing, then I want to bump this up to 5 stars. I was engrossed in the mystery the whole way through. I found Ellie to be such a likable, interesting character and Miles (and his family) added depth to the story. On the other hand, if the next book is set up as a standalone and doesn’t answer the questions I still have…. then I want to knock it down a star. I understand “who did it” and “why”, but how the why came to be is a mystery to me. I would be more specific, but *spoilers*…
All that being said, I pretty much couldn’t put this book down. I finished it rather quickly even though it seemed kind of long for a YA book, I was enjoying the characters and mystery so much that it didn’t drag at all. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the next book in the series and hope I love that one even more.
This book releases September 27th, 2016.
