Midnight Heat by J.L. White (Firework Girls #2)

5 Stars!

This book was smoldering! I started it after 9PM last night and finished it before noon today. I couldn’t put it down no matter how hard I tried (except… you know… sleep). I liked Forbidden Heat, but I LOVED Midnight Heat.

Chloe and Grayson are just perfect. Their story gave me butterflies and had me swooning from the very beginning.

Chloe met Grayson on the night her wedding was originally scheduled for. The one that she would have been having if her fiance hadn’t ditched her 3 months before the big day… for his lab partner.  She’s out with a few of the Firework Girls to keep her mind off her Almost Wedding when she meets Grayson. There’s an immediate attraction and one thing leads to another resulting in a one night stand. A one night stand that seems like it might be love at first sight.

It’s too soon for her to get attached to another man, so of course she runs.

She leaves him behind but can’t keep her mind off him. A few months later, one of her best friends brings him to a destination wedding as her date. This friend never knew about Grayson, and Chloe can’t bring herself to explain the situation. The feelings are still there though, and seeing him with her is torture.

Like I said before, I couldn’t put this book down and the emotions are portrayed so genuinely that you feel everything going on in the book. While reading this, I fell in love with Grayson, and wanted Chloe to get her happily ever after so badly. This is an 18+ book, and has some pretty steamy scenes. I read a lot, and often find myself just skimming the sex scenes because there are only so many ways they can be written. These were good. Very Good.
