Spinning Out by Lexi Ryan (The Blackhawk Boys)

4.5 Stars!

I’ve heard the name Lexi Ryan, but haven’t had an opinion on her, or read any of her books until now. This is the 1st book in a new series, and the rest of this series is going straight in my To-Be-Read pile. And it seems I now have a backlog of her books to find because I do believe I will love everything she writes.

This book kept me riveted to the page and up late into the night. I thought I knew who did it, and then I thought I was partially right, and then I wasn’t right at all. It’s made of heavier stuff: love, life, death, grief, depression and addiction.

I can’t really talk about the book at all, because each page you read adds to the characters and the situation. Your perspective shifts and you realize there are no bad guys. Just bad situations, bad decisions, and love. It goes back and forth between past and present from both Mia and Arrows POV. It weaves a story full intricacies and deceit, love and consequences.

“I want to get to know you,” he says softly.

That simple line steals my breath. Not just the words. Any guy can say the words. It’s the look in his eyes, as if he really means it. It’s the crease in his brow, as if he’s surprised to feel this way. It’s that he’s looking at my mouth like he wants to kiss me, and he totally could, but he’s talking to me instead.
