Let me start by saying that I’m pretty sure I was one of the few fans of this genre that has never read anything by Colleen Hoover. I had very high expectations and she didn’t let me down. This book was nothing short of exceptional.
Hopeless is the story of Sky and Dean. Dean has spent some time in juvi, and Sky is a complete slut…. or that’s what the rumors would lead you to believe. Their tale isn’t easy, and they have more than their share of heartbreak along the way, but the emotions are worth it and there is happiness at the end of all those twists and turns.
I barely paused long enough to highlight anything, but here is one of my favorites.
You can hold my hand, you can run your fingers through my hair, you can straddle me while I feed you spaghetti, but you are not getting kissed tonight. And probably not tomorrow, either. I need this. I need to know for sure that you’re feeling every single thing that I’m feeling the moment my lips touch yours. Because I want your first kiss to be the best first kiss in the history of first kisses.
The entire book made me feel like that. And, once again, I couldn’t stop reading.
