I ran across this book on NetGalley and couldn’t request it fast enough. It is so hard to find books with Hispanic characters in them, let alone REALLY GOOD BOOKS. I am SO glad I found this one. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the pale, insert gorgeous eye color here hunks that are featured in 95% of the books I read but being that my husband is Mexican…. I crave a little something different.
If you keep staring at me like that, we won’t make it out of this hallway.
I connected with this book from the very beginning and kept trying to sneak in chapters throughout the day. It had me laughing and then crying. It’s dual POV with a very occasional extra POV thrown in. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that had others outside the main couple, but I really enjoyed it and it gave a lot of insight into the additional characters.
Our tongues dance in perfect rhythm. Her hand works its way up the back of my neck, and she softly tugs at my hair. I moan and her grip tightens. I harden against her, and with our close proximity, I know she can feel it. One word is on loop in my head “mine,” and it’s scaring the shit out of me.
I will throw out a trigger warning, one of the characters dealt with childhood sexual abuse and while not explicit, it is emotional.
Then OMG! That ending! I am so glad book 2 is already out, because I never saw that coming.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
